I received my new leased car (Peugeot 3008) May 2024, on 19th October 2024 after 4900 miles it suddenly went into 'limp mode' and warning light came on saying 'engine fault-repair needed'. I wasn't initially concerned I had leased cars before and any issues were always quickly resolved, but it's been a bit of a nightmare. Through the leasing company I contacted the RAC that reported it was 'contaminated oil' and I needed to book it into a dealership. All the local dealerships couldn't see me until late November, so I had a new car in continuous 'limp mode' that initially I was advised not to drive. I contacted Peugeot, Arval the finance company and Nationwide the Leasing Company, they were of little help, although Arval have promised that they would compensate me pro rata for the 40 days I was unable to fully use the car. I finally booked into a Peugeot dealership yesterday, they reported it just needed a service and I had to pay for it. I reminded them that the service schedule is every 12 months or 12000 miles and it is 6 months and 5000 miles, only to be told that the car was registered January 2024 so it is nearly due a service anyway, if someone could advise where the responsibity lies it would be most helpful, thank you.
