I had no choice but to change the BPGA because the car was throwing up errors every time I started it.
Although it did eventually start I couldn't take the risk.
So I had Peugeot do a diagnostic and they sent me away to try the car and it was just as bad, although they quoted me for a BPGA (£540).
I contacted a local garage who charged me £350 for the replacement part and £87 for fitting it, cheaper than Peugeot quoted.
So far (two dayson ) I have a perfect working car. No errors and (with no tangible proof) it feels much sharper, the electrics just 'feel' better, the car managed a faultless 200-mile round trip with no errors
It cost me: £75 for utterly useless, money-grabbing auto-electrician, £164 for Peugeot to diagnose the problem as being the BPGA, and £437 to have the part fitted. Total: £674.
If it cured the problem, it's worth it, the car is fantastic. If not, that's it for me and French cars

Thanks for posting dhphoto. Yours is the first post I've read anywhere that actually reports the result of replacing the BPGA so, again, thanks. Fingers crossed that has cracked the problem permanently. I'm encouraged to bite the bullet and go down the same route.
I am in the same boat re bpga faults.,with various messages appearing,however last week a parking brake msg appeared with associated bells an whistles,and car wouldn't allow me to start.
A new battery has been fitted,and prob is definitely bpga associated .
I've sourced a unit from Peugeot parts direct for £315 and will attempt to fit it myself (my independent is not to keen in case it bursts into flames
)
Is it straightforward to refit the unit ?

My local independent only charged me an hour's labour to do it when they serviced and MOT'd mine. There are obviously a number of colour-coded cables that need to be correctly installed but other than that it appears to be a disconnect from battery and unbolting of unit to remove. No pairing with the car is necessary once new unit fitted. If you spend a bit of time on here and elsewhere you may find someone who has done it and posted pics etc?.Chaz wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 12:13 pm I am in the same boat re bpga faults.,with various messages appearing,however last week a parking brake msg appeared with associated bells an whistles,and car wouldn't allow me to start.
